Mechanical Maintenance Manager

Working for our Engineering Department, the purpose of the Mechanical Maintenance Manager is to lead the activities of the Mechanical Maintenance Department.

Hours of work: 36.25 hours per week, flexi-time system of 8am-6pm
Status: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, Dependant on Experience

The Mechanical Maintenance Manager will be responsible for planning and supervising any maintenance and project work aimed at reducing unplanned downtime, equipment failures and machine breakdowns. They will also work to ensure that all assets are maintained adequately, to operate within their designed capabilities. The role will provide leadership across the Mechanical Maintenance and Reliability Engineering teams and champion asset management through use of preventative, planned and condition monitoring techniques, whilst also setting spares strategies for critical equipment and assets. 

The applicant should be educated to degree level (BEng in Mechanical Engineering) and ideally possess, or be working towards, attaining a Master’s degree in a Mechanical Engineering related discipline. Academic ability should be supported and exemplified by development and implementation of a preventative mechanical maintenance regime in an industrial environment. Experience of working at departmental manager level, or equivalent, is also required.

Being professionally registered, or working towards professional registration, with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) to a Chartered Engineering level (CEng) would also be advantageous to the role.
