Recruitment Officer

The Recruitment Officer will be responsible for sourcing suitable candidates and managing the whole selection and recruitment process for the Company. Reporting into the HR Manager, they will be part of the wider HR function, helping to shape and deliver a best practice service.

Hours of work: 36.25 hours per week within a flexi-time system of 8am-6pm
Status: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive; Dependent on experience

Main tasks will include:

  • Understanding the recruitment needs of the whole business
  • Editing job and people specifications
  • Organising and attending recruitment events
  • Managing the advertisement of vacancies
  • Arranging and participating in all interviews
  • Providing advice as to the suitability of candidates
  • Managing the communication with agencies/candidates/managers of the company
  • Providing feedback to candidates (directly and through a third party)
  • Facilitate offers of employment being made
  • Reporting on key metrics
  • Request references from new employees' contacts and advise management, in line with due process
  • Manage leaving employees in terms of exit interviews and relevant process/paperwork

The ideal candidate will need:

  • Good knowledge of Engineering, Manufacturing and Management Recruitment
  • Previous experience of using online recruitment platforms (Linkedin, Indeed, Total Jobs)
  • Existing networking relationships within relevant industries and recruitment agencies
  • Demonstratable previous practical experience within a related recruitment-centric role
  • To work with limited supervision in an accurate manner
  • The ability to use own initiative in the priority of tasks
  • The ability to problem solve
  • Strong organisational skills
  • The ability to report on progress in written and verbal media
  • A high degree of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality
  • The ability to form strong and trusting relationships across all levels
  • The ability to lead and influence at all levels 
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
