Electrical Maintenance Technician - Shift

We are looking for dynamic Electrical Maintenance Technicians for Shift 4on / 4off rotation to join the team here at Bridgnorth Aluminium Ltd. The Electrical Maintenance Technicians would be responsible for detecting and solving electrical faults on various electrical equipment across the site. They will drive forward the company ethos and carry out reactive and proactive maintenance on equipment as directed.

Electrical Maintenance Technician – Job role

  •  Detect, localise and rectify electrical faults on plant and equipment throughout the Bridgnorth Aluminium site
  • Working with minimum supervision on allotted tasks within nationally recognised regulations and company procedures
  • Producing diagrams for communication purposes, explaining problems and suggestions for repair
  • Performing other tasks related to the work of the maintenance department as directed by the Electrical Engineering Manager
  • Instructing trainees and mentoring when necessary; working to support our apprentice and graduate scheme
  • Ensuring that logs are kept of shift activities and locations planned maintenance activities, and that job cards are completed as appropriate

Electrical Maintenance Technician - The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of the IEE regulations and electrical supply regulations 
  • An understanding and ability to test PLC’s using Siemens S7 Software (Allen Bradley knowledge also an advantage)
  • Able to design simple electrical systems and draw schematic diagrams for practical use
  • An understanding of how to use universal and company measuring instruments
  • An understanding of the working and construction of DC/AC machines
  • An understanding of mechanical systems including servo controlled equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Understanding of National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications

Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent should be aware that under special circumstances (e.g., breakdowns, outage periods, etc.) longer working hours or working over weekends/holidays might be required to fulfil the duties of the role.
