HR Officer

The Human Resources Officer position is of a Generalist role and is to support all departments and employees across the business in a highly professional manner. The Human Resources Officer reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. We require candidates to have a minimum of CIPD level 3 for this role. Human Resources Officer - General Duties and Responsibilities

These are (not exhaustive):

  • Be the first port of call for enquiries into the department
  • General administration from data entry through to post segregation and chasing of paperwork
  • General daily maintenance of the HR system, scanning, filing, data collation and record updates within the boundaries of the Data Protection Act – GDPR legislation
  • Conduct disciplinary investigations and meetings up to dismissal level, ensuring disciplinaries follow due process and are recorded accurately with support provided to managers of all levels
  • Preparing and collecting new staff forms, contracts and any other employment related paperwork, ensuring that treatment of our employees complies with current employment legislation in all aspects
  • Update Company Policies to ensure that they reflect best business practice, ensuring; under direction that the Company Policies are implemented consistently across all departments
  • Engage and support the relationship with Union’s; with a view to maintain cordial relationship’s and achieve both business and individual solutions to issues
  • Support management in the forming of department and company strategy, as part of the HR team within the company
  • Ensure that communication of company policy is adequate and employees are consulted in a manner that is proportional to the issue under consideration
  • HR Induction for all new Employees to the company when required
  • Work with and support; payroll, recruitment/dismissals, training and occupational health related issues across the wider HR team
  • Identifies issues, opportunities and risks and look to implementing new processes and procedures
  • Experience of family friendly issues (MAT/PAT/Flexible working)

Human Resources Officer - Essential to the role

  • Minimum of CIPD level 3, level of education with strong supporting work experience and relevant formal training – an HR or other related degree would prove highly beneficial
  • Awareness of developments in HR management, working to achieve compliance; meeting with employment legislation with a strong knowledge of employment law
  • Working within a unionised environment and have facilitated negotiations

Human Resources Officer - Package

  • 36.25 hours per week with flexitime – company rule specific
