HR Assistant – FTC 6 Months

We are looking for an HR Assistant to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. You will be an integral part of the HR department; you will support the team on all HR related administration from providing advice/ guidance to managers and dealing with HR related queries.

Salary: Competitive, Dependant on experience
Hours of work: 36.25 hours per week within a flexi-time system of 8am-6pm
Status: Full time, Fixed Term for 6 months

HR Assistant duties and responsibilities:

  • Assisting HR with the process of recruitment, assisting with interviews and issuing employment contracts;
  • Assisting with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties;
  • Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR department;
  • Maintain electronic employee files; scanning, filing and archiving documents accurately in line with data protection requirements;
  • Assisting with the new starters process including reference checking and probations;
  • Assist our recruiters to interview candidates and update our database;
  • Coordinating logistics for new starter inductions;
  • Writing and submitting reports on general HR activities;
  • Ensure exit interviews are conducted for all staff either face to face or remotely;
  • Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency;
  • To support the HR team with development and implementation of projects as required

HR Assistant skills and qualifications:

  • (Essential) A good level of formal education including GCSE Maths and English is essential (Level 2);
  • (Essential) An excellent level of computer knowledge, keyboard skills and software (HR database and spreadsheet) expertise, Microsoft Word, Excel and databases are essential to enable report writing when required;
  • (Essential) Excellent organisational skills and communication skills and the ability to build relationships;
  • (Essential) Personal resilience and the capacity to work effectively and stay calm under pressure;
  • (Essential) Ability to deal with confidential information and maintain confidentiality;
  • (Essential) Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • (Desirable) CIPD qualification is desirable or relevant HR experience;
  • (Desirable) Degree in Human Resources or related field would be considered as an asset;
  • (Desirable) An understanding of HR practice, employment law and legislation;
  • Passionate about people and confident in dealing with employees at all levels
  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes
