Technical Apprentice

As a Technical Apprentice, you will be working closely with other members of the Technical department as they support the technical requirements of the business. You will assist with all aspects of administration and customer support activities in the Technical Department. The Technical Apprentice reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Monday - Friday - 36.25 Hours per week
College day release 1 day per week

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • File, record and process customer complaints
  • Generation and verification of product release certificates
  • Liaise with relevant business teams to ensure return coils are correctly accounted, identified and managed
  • Support product and process development activities
  • Assist the work within the material testing laboratory
  • Liase with external suppliers and customers as necessary

Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong numeracy skills and comfortable working with numerical data
  • Ability to use computer software packages such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability and desire to learn new analytical techniques and use information collection systems
  • The ability to work as part of a team, whilst remaining self-motivated in managing your own workload
  • Able to communicate well both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to liaise directly with external parties by phone and email
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible, Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn
  • Desire to find improvement opportunities for existing tasks
  • Good attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Essential - GCSE in English Language, Maths and Science Grade 9 – 5 (A* – C)
  • Desirable - A Levels or equivalent grade A – C
