Production Supervisor

Overall responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of designated teams to ensure safe and timely production within budgeted and planned cost, quality and time parameters.

 Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely production within area
  • Plan and co-ordinate, the timely production within designated teams to achieve production objectives and departmental KPIs
  • Monitor personnel and resources as well as study production methods and implement cost reductions activities
  • Organise cover for shifts during periods of absence, holiday, etc.
  • Ensure production area is clean and safe condition
  • Monitor visual workplace with 5S principles
  • Monitor through Optafleet system driving behaviours and correct when necessary 
  • Report issues with FLTs in the department and coordinate with FLT’s team necessary repairs

Skills Essential to the Role:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a ‘C’ grade pass in Maths and English
  • Experience of managing teams within tight quality and efficiency parameters
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and, in particular, Excel
  • Strong people management skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Ability to implement, and ensure compliance with, company policies and procedures
  • Be customer focused

  • Qualification in Supervisory Management
  • Relevant qualification in production or manufacturing
  • Forklift and crane trainee trainer licence
  • Experience of Quality Systems (preferably ISO 9001 (2008)
  • Knowledge and application of manufacturing improvement techniques such as 6S and Kaizen
  • Experience of employee relations
  • Experience of training/developing staff
  • Experience of performance management systems
  • IT literacy esp. in Microsoft packages
  • Ability to set targets for, and monitor the work of others
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
  • A self-starter, motivated and able to positively motivate others
  • Focused target driven with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere
