Electrical Technician

To detect and solve electrical faults on various electrical equipment on site. To assist in the management of the Electrical Engineering function within the division in the provision of a safe, reliable Electrical distribution system. To ensure maximisation of plant availability though provision of effective planned and remedial maintenance. Continental Shift Pattern of two 12 hour days then two 12hr Nights followed by four rest days. Shift patterns starts and finish at 6.

Main Skills and Responsibilities:

  • ·        Receives instructions from the Leading Technician.
  • ·         In the absence of the leading technician, supervise and allocate work to the Shift team (consisting of technicians and electricians) using priorities guided by the Site priority register and taking into account the Safety of people and machines.
  • ·         Investigate and rectify safely any plant related problems of an electrical, electronic, or software related nature.
  • ·         To undertake/allocate project/installation/commissioning tasks as directed.

Skills Essential for the Role:

  • (Essential) HNC in Electrical engineering or NVQ Level 4 in Electrical
  • Apprentice trained in Electrical Duties
  • A good working Knowledge of Siemens PLC’s
  • A Knowledge and understanding the operation of AC and DC Drives
  • A Knowledge of AC/DC Motors
