A Madeley Academy student on work experience with us made such an impression that colleagues said they would have offered him a job on the spot!
Tighe Jones spent a week at our Bridgnorth site, and impressed everyone with his consistently cheerful, polite and positive enthusiasm.
The placement was arranged by Tighe’s dad Marc, a Finishing Foreman with the company.
Adam Thorpe, L&D Supervisor at Bridgnorth Aluminium, said: “From day one, Tighe made a fantastic impression. He arrived early each morning with his dad and stepped onto site with a brilliant attitude.
“Throughout the week, he remained engaged, chatty, and full of thoughtful questions that showed his real curiosity and desire to understand and learn more.

“His placement included visiting our laboratories, shadowing the quality team, experiencing many office environments, witnessing important stake holder meetings, and learning about our health, safety and our fire department.
“A particular highlight for him was his time spent with our H&S fire officer Luke, when he had the chance to ride in the fire truck and even witness a real fire alarm activation on site, seeing first-hand how our on-site fire crew respond, prepare and deploy from the fire station with blue lights and sirens.
“Throughout the week, several colleagues approached me to share their feedback after working with or meeting Tighe and all was extremely positive. His attitude and willingness to get involved were praised across the board. More than one colleague even suggested that they would offer him a job on the spot if they could.

“Tighe was an absolute credit to himself and an excellent ambassador for Madeley Academy. He represented the school exceptionally well and left a strong positive impression on everyone he met.
“Well done Tighe, you have truly set the bar for others to follow.”
At the end of his placement, Tighe was presented with a certificate to commemorate the week and was assured that should opportunities arise, we’d be very open to welcoming him back and exploring ways to support him when he starts his career.
