Shift Electrical Technician

We are recruiting for our Shift Maintenance Team a Shift Electrical Technician/Engineer. This role works in a team of 3 Maintenance Electrical Technicians per shift working site wide. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, Shift Electrical Technician will detect and solve electrical faults on various electrical equipment on site. This role will assist the Technical Department function in the provision of a safe, reliable electrical distribution system and to ensure maximization of plant availability through the provision of effective and remedial maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Fault find, localize, and rectify electrical defects on plant and equipment throughout the site, to carrying out planned maintenance/repairs & inspections.
  • Producing diagrams for communication purposes, explaining problems and suggestions for improvements.
  • Instructing trainees/apprentices when necessary.
  • Ensuring that logs are kept of shift activities and locations planned maintenance activities, job cards are completed as appropriate within the CMMS.
  • Assist in conducting chronic and recurring Failure Elimination/Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Participating in commissioning and start-up activities of machines and furnaces.
  • Assisting in the development of Standard Operation Procedures for maintenance tasks and jobs.

Skills Essential for the Role:

  • Essential - ONC in Electrical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical
  • Working knowledge of relevant electrical engineering principles and practices or relevant industry in engineering and maintenance fields
  • A good working Knowledge of Siemens PLC’s
  • Knowledge and understanding of AC / DC Drives and of AC/DC Motors
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off working 2 days 6am to 6pm and 2 nights 6pm to 6am

Salary Range: £39,000 to £44,000 per annum
